This initiative is an important new element of Resurgo’s diversity work, seeking to address the historical under-representation of people from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) or socially disadvantaged backgrounds applying for, and working in, coaching roles on the Spear Programme, helping unemployed 16-24-year-olds into work or education.
Following discussion with Resurgo’s BAME employees and as part of Resurgo’s broader commitment to addressing inequality, the bursary of up to £5,000 will be open to anyone who is from a socially disadvantaged or BAME background. It aims to remove barriers for these individuals in applying to work as coaches on the Spear programme and will be awarded on the basis of need.
Resurgo envisages that the sum will benefit, for example, those not able to find discounted accommodation or those needing to financially support family.
