Resurgo is partnering with York Vineyard to deliver its award-winning Spear Programme to local young people in York, from autumn 2025.
In light of an increasing number of 16-24-year-olds who are not in employment, education or training (NEET) in the UK, Resurgo has ambitious plans to grow the reach of Spear – currently delivered by 17 local partners across the country – in order to support young job-seekers who most need its support.
“There are now an estimated nearly one million young people not in employment, education or training (NEET) in the UK, and the need for intervention has never been greater. The UK’s young people have enormous potential to thrive, but they can only do this with the right support.”
– Iona Ledwidge, Chief Executive of Resurgo
Resurgo is committed to providing this support, and is particularly excited to be extending Spear’s reach further to the north of the UK, partnering with a local church passionate about seeing young people from all backgrounds connect, belong, and thrive in the workplace.
Spear York will be delivering Resurgo’s streamlined version of Spear, designed to make the programme more accessible to a wider spectrum of partners, and in turn young people who may otherwise not be able to access the support they need.
Young people will receive four weeks of in-depth employment coaching, focussing on practical skills such as interview preparation and CV writing, as well as transformative coaching around mindset and attitude. This is followed by a further six months of personalised follow-on support.
At the time of publishing, Resurgo and York Vineyard are looking to hire passionate and talented coaches to join the local team in York. Find out more about these vacancies here: https://resurgo.bamboohr.com/careers
