We are delighted to announce that Miranda Hart, the well-known comedian and writer and star of the hit TV show Miranda, has generously agreed to be the patron of Spear and SpearHead.

The much-loved Miranda was one of our special guests at the Spear party on 11th November 2011, where the announcement was made. Miranda expressed her passion for and commitment to the charity in an interview with Chief Executive Tom Jackson. She said, “I wanted to work with a charity that supports young people and makes my heart skip. That’s why I chose Spear.” She also jokingly asked that she be referred to as “Ambassador Hart”.

This is thrilling news for Spear, and we are delighted to welcome Miranda to this new role.
