As of this week, Tom Jackson MBE has handed over Chief Executive responsibilities to Jo Rice. Tom and Jo have worked closely together since the start of Resurgo in 2003 and they will continue their partnership through a re-alignment of their roles. Acting as Founder, Tom will transition into a full-time executive chairman type role in order to focus on our long term growth strategy and the development of strategic partnerships including prospective new Spear and Resurgo Ventures centres as well as other emerging opportunities. Meantime, Jo is taking over responsibility for the day to day leadership of the charity including its financial management and Resurgo Ventures, while retaining her long-standing leadership of Spear and Resurgo Consulting. Jo will be supported by Iona Ledwidge (the Executive Director of Spear), Gordon Eichhorst (Executive Director of Resurgo Ventures) and the newly appointed Pete Bacon (Executive Director of Operations and Impact).
Jo said “I am delighted to be taking on the role of Chief Executive in order to help us reach the next stage of our growth. We have a fantastic and highly motivated team and I am looking forward to working with them to deliver on our three year business plan. It is brilliant to welcome Pete Bacon to the SLT – Pete is a long-standing member of Resurgo’s team who has been a senior Spear coach and more recently has been responsible for overseeing our impact management.”
Tom said “This is a very exciting development for Resurgo. Jo will be a fantastic CEO and I feel particularly excited to have more space to focus on building the wider opportunities for social impact we are keen to develop. This new structure will help us achieve this more effectively and I look forward to working with Jo, our trustees and all our partners to become more transformational together.”
