Resurgo Party raises over £400,000 to support young people into employment

The 2019 Resurgo Party raised over £400,000 to support hundreds more young people into work through the Spear Programme.

We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our guests at this year’s Resurgo Party in support of the Spear Programme. The Narnia-themed party welcomed 300 guests who walked through a fur-coat filled wardrobe into a winter wonderland complete with snow, feature lamp-post and real Christmas trees. Guests were treated to messages from comedian Miranda Hart and England rugby captain Eddie Jones, as well as a special performance from Sifiso Mazibuko, who joined the Party straight from the West End stage where he plays the role of Aaron Burr in the award-winning hit show Hamilton.

Guests also heard from recent Spear trainees, including George, who shared how the Spear Programme helped him overcome his anger issues so that he could go on and get his first ever job. He explained that without Spear teaching him how to resolve conflict he ‘probably wouldn’t have been able to get into work, due to [his] anger issues’. He went on to say, ‘I’m not the same person I was in the past, and I’m very grateful that the Spear Programme has helped me become the person that I am today’.

A further highlight was the auction, where guests bid on exclusive lots including a luxury ski chalet for 12, a signed Anthony Joshua boxing glove, and a week’s stay in the stunning Sogni de Santi villa in Italy.

Resurgo CEO, Tom Jackson, said, ‘The Resurgo Party is designed to help guests see at first hand the real life change their giving makes to the lives of young people. I am deeply grateful to the many donors who attended and made such generous donations to the work of the Spear Programme. The money raised will help hundreds of young people realise their potential and get into work.’
