Resurgo is today launching their Change the Story campaign, aiming to raise £100,000 to help 50 more young people access the life-transforming support of the Spear Programme and kickstart their careers.
Recent estimates suggest there are well over 900,000 16-24-year-olds not in employment, education or training (NEET) in the UK, which accounts for 12.5% of this demographic. The number of young women neither earning nor learning is estimated to stand at nearly 20,000 more than this time last year.
44% of NEET young people say they think they will fail in life.
Resurgo’s campaign invites the public to rewrite this story, by donating to help fund 50 more places on the Spear Programme, where each young person is equipped with the skills and self-belief the need to succeed in work, no matter they background or circumstance.
Thanks to a generous match-funding pot, for the duration of the time-limited campaign, any donations will be doubled.
Resurgo’s Spear Programme has coached more than 11,000 young people across the UK since its inception more than 20 years ago, and is currently delivered by 17 local partners.
