Resurgo Announced as Guardian Charity Awards Winner 2013

We were incredibly excited to win the Guardian Charity Awards 2013 on 3rd December.

This was in recognition of Resurgo’s ongoing work through outstanding church-based social ventures, helping communities overcome social challenges. Resurgo was announced as one of the five winners of the Award which seeks to recognise excellence and innovation by small and medium-sized charities. We are immensely proud to have been honoured in such a way.

The ceremony began with a drinks reception, before the official presentation of the awards, and was followed by a formal lunch. On behalf of the Resurgo Team our Chief Executive, Tom Jackson, and our Managing Director, Jo Rice, accepted the award presented by Jane Asher, President of the National Autistic Society, and Ade Adepitan, TV Presenter and former Team GB Wheelchair Basketball Member. Tom thanked the Guardian and dedicated the award to the “courage of all the young people we work with and in honour of all they continue to achieve”.

Resurgo was recognised for its outstanding contribution to social welfare, primarily through its two main initiatives; a widely acclaimed pre-employment programme, Spear, and its business facing sister project, SpearHead. To find out more about either of the initiatives and how to get involved please see the links below.
