Resurgo Trust is a London-based registered charity created by local residents in 2003. It exists to help stimulate transformation in local neighbourhoods by developing diverse initiatives such as Spear, SpearHead and Spear Solutions.

Three Spear students
Spear: A Resurgo employment initiative

Spear is Resurgo's flagship initiative supporting disadvantaged young people aged 16-24 into work, education or further training. At its core is a unique six week employment training programme run by a highly motivated and trained team of coaches. The programme addresses the issues that often stop young people succeeding in the working world including:

  • attitude and motivation
  • life skills for the work place
  • job search skills
  • interview training

Spear currently runs in four centres and aims to be in 12 centres by 2015. It serves 360 young people per year and has been highly commended for its effectiveness and cost-efficiency.

75% of Spear's graduates are still in work or education a year after completing the course.

SpearHead: A Resurgo employment initiative

In addition to Spear, Resurgo provides an entry-level recruitment service called SpearHead which helps businesses to employ talented Spear graduates.

Spear Solutions: A Resurgo initiative

Spear Solutions is Resurgo's consultancy service that coaches businesses in how to get the best out of their teams, and more specifically, the Spear graduates that they employ.

Other Activities

Resurgo intentionally works in partnership with other organisations in order to help catalyse social transformation.

In 2009, Resurgo joined with The Lighthouse Group to set up an Ofsted-inspected school aimed at helping young people at risk of exclusion back into education.

Resurgo is currently working with other local organisations to develop and innovative social investment partnership which, if successful, could be modelled elsewhere.
